Atomic Bomb Justification

December 7th, 1941 Pearl Harbor receives a devastating bombing attack from the Japanese, destroying planes, ships, submarines and killing more than 2,402 men and leaving up to 1,282 wounded. with no other option the U.S. enters the war. As the Nazi party falls, Japan is the final target for ending the war and the U.S. had just the thing for the surrender of Japan. In the spring of 1945 the United States created the atomic bomb, the greatest of all bombs in its day, with the destructive capacity to annihilate anything. August 6th and August 9th the newly made bombs are dropped over in Nagasaki and Hiroshima destroying both cities into extinction. This Attack or Destruction on japan was justified because they forced the United states into the war with their foolishness of attacking Peal Harbor. Also the U.S. clearly sent the message to the Japanese government saying they have to surrender of face consequences. If it wasn't for the bombings many more lives wold have been wasted.

The history of the atomic bomb dates to The Manhattan Project. The Manhattan Project was the effort, led by the United States with participation from Britain and Canada, which led to the development of the first Atom Bomb during WWII. From 1942 to 1946 the project was under the command of Major General Leslie R. of the U.S. army corporations of Engineering. The Army component of the project was designated the Manhattan District or Manhattan Engineer District, but "Manhattan" gradually Replaced the official codename for the project.
The project had its history in the Einstein Letter, which warned that Nazi Germany Was Creating Nuclear Weapons. The letter was written by prominent physicists, signed by Albert Einstein, and delivered to President FDR in October 1939. The Manhattan Project, which began as a small research program that year, eventually employed more than 130,000 people at a cost of nearly Two Billion Dollars. Research and production took place at more than 30 sites, some secret, including universities across the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada. The three primary research and production sites of the project were the plutonium-production facility at the Hanford State in eastern Washington State, the uranium enrichment facilities at Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and the weapons research and design laboratory at Los Alamos, New Mexico.
Two types of atomic bombs were developed during the war. A Gun-type fission weapon was made from uranium-235, an isotope of uranium that makes up only 0.7% of natural uranium. Most most of this work was performed at Oak Ridge.

Pearl Harbor was just one of the reasons the U.S. dropped the atomic bomb in japan. The event of Pearl Harbor was indeed a turning point for the isolated U.S.A. The Attack came as a profound shock to citizens and the feeling of isolation was at a disappearance. As the war against Nazi Germany was at an end it was only an item checked off the to do list. The U.S. was now in focus with Japan along with the island surrounding it. This shows that pearl harbor wasn't the only reason the U.S. had, they were dragged (forcefully) into the war which is another reason they had. From then on one of the most significant and bloodiest battles, code named operation iceburg, was about the invasion of Okinawa. The Whole Operation began and finished with the extremest concentration of naval gunfire. 100,000 Japanese troops were deep underground to attempt to withstand the U.S.'s or Allies superior sea and air power. For six months, the United States had made use of intense Strategic fire-bombing of 67 Japanese cities. The United states then called for the surrender of japan in the post damn Declaration on July 26, 1945. The Japanese government ignored the threat. By order of president Truman, The U.S. dropped the nuclear weapon "little boy" over the city of Hiroshima and the missile "fat boy" over Nagasaki. 60% died from flash burns, 30 percent from falling debris, and 10% from other causes. On august of 1945, Japan announced its surrender to the allies and signed the Instrument of surrender on september 2, officially ending the pacific war and WWII. Germany had also signed its surrender on may 7th.
